Apag (SMMFF 2023)
Directed by: Brillante Mendoza
Isang handaan o đ˘đąđ˘đ¨
ang babago sa kapalaran
ng pamilyang ito.
Sino nga ba ang pamilyang ito?
Hindi mo sila makikilala,
dahil hindi naman sila ipapakilala saâyo.
Kung kayaât kahit anong gawin nila,
wala kang paki-elam.
The movie is too lazy to take us through
what the characters are experiencing.
From Guilt to Remorse.
From Anger to Wrath.
From Resentment to Forgiveness.
It all happened in an instant. Their journey and progression are being skipped, making you apathetic with whatâs happening.
The Kapampangan cuisine and culture are not really showcased. They just fade in the background, along with the main story and the side plots.
The shots are uninteresting. The scoring is manipulative. The ending comes without a shock, because you have no care for the characters.
