Babae At Baril (QCinema 2019)
Directed by: Rae Red
Tapos consistent pala silang ganun.
The flow of the story is abrupt. Hindi maayos ang pagkakatahi ng mga pangyayari. Halu-halong kwento.
The conversation felt unreal.
Hindi lang si JC ang emotera dito. Marami sila. Na magsasalita na lang bigla. Tapos mag-k-kwento na para bang may spoken poetry contest. Ang awkward pakinggan.
Pati yung scoring nila. Masyadong pa-bida at nangigibabaw. It doesn’t blend well with the scenes. Kahit alisin mo yun, walang pagkakaiba. It doesn’t help to intensify the scenes.
Kita mo yung weak at strong side nya. Not only through her face. But also by the way she talks.
Sayang yung plot nila. Babae At Baril could’ve focused on how women can be empowered with or without gun in their lives. Instead, what we saw was a just stereotyped comparison between men and women shooting guns.
Sadly, hindi ka tatamaan.
It was a miss.
