BURN THE FLOOR

Whether you love dancing or not, it’s hard not to be amazed by the performers. They make every production number worthy of an applause. Just as their feet keeps on moving, your hands keep on clapping.

Dancing in high heels is already a feat in itself. And they make everything look easy and seamless. From female to male dancers, there’s no exception to the excellence they bring on the dance floor.

Never for a second will they bore you. It’s a nonstop party. You are seated, yet your soul is rising and dancing to the beat. An irresistible energy is attached to the sound and the movements—and it draws you in. The singers amplify every performance.

With Dion Holganza, the show transforms into an extravaganza. She brings the heat on stage. Her presence is burning the floor and her voice is rising up to the ceiling. You can’t get enough of her. She’s highly addicting. A performer like her deserves more than a standing ovation. Kabogera!

The vocals and choreography are a fiery blend.

Individually, the production numbers are great. But holistically, it doesn’t have a strong unifying experience. The title “Burn The Floor” doesn’t effectively summarize the whole show.

Iconic dance moves from each country or region could’ve been highlighted to emphasize their pool of world-class performers. Props and lights are underutilized. Transitions could’ve been better. Stage design is underwhelming.

The male singers are singing fine, but their voice sometimes lack power and impact. But it’s easy to let go of these things—especially when you’re having fun.

The tickets are pricey but you won’t regret watching this sing-and-dance concert. To be amazed by them is one thing. But to enjoy the show is another.

Having fun is the last thing we expect from the show, yet it has become a core memory that’ll keep on burning with us for a long time.

If you want to feel the heat, catch Burn The Floor from July 10-13 at the Theatre at Solaire. Get your tickets at TicketWorld or visit their website at www.burnthefloor.com
