Dead Kids (2019)
Directed by: Mikhail Red
Para sa ating kauna-unahang Philippine Netflix movie, the main plot is... a group of kids planning to kidnap a high-profile guy.
Kulang pa sa angst and emotions. They failed to put us in their shoes.
Another problem is the way they brainstormed about their plan. Para kang nanunuod ng prank show with a bunch of amateur kidnappers expecting to fail. But the tone of the movie is thrilling and serious.
From there onwards, the movie felt like a joke already. Hindi mo na sila kayang seryosohin.
Kung akala mo na-manhid ka na sa kanilang illogical actions... wait till you see more jokes until the very end.
Wishing we could say we did a good job for our first Netflix movie...
