Four Sisters Before The Wedding (2020)
Directed by: Mae Cruz-Alviar
ALEXA was on point with her portrayal. She effortlessly exudes the prim and proper behavior. You can feel her sincerity in every scene.
BELLE was believable. Her innocence and youthfulness contributed to her character. CLARENCE lacked that sweetness and charm of a young brother, but not a major distraction.
Individually, some did great and some needs improvement. As a whole, they worked together as a family. Whenever there’s a confrontation or an emotional scene, you can feel the tension and the drama.
This movie has numerous subplots and problems, but they only have a limited screen time. In effect, the resolution didn’t come as natural and smooth as it should be.
Most lines were said just because they were present on the first film, but it was uncalled for or it needs more supporting scenes.
The insertion of “Rebisco” can get too repetitive. They keep showing biscuits, even if the scenes don’t need it. The value of it got lost, since they used it more as props and product placements rather than a thoughtful gesture.
Overall, they showed how’s family like. The ensemble cast would pass as one big family. The rapport of the four sisters is evident. Given the right direction and screenplay, this movie could’ve blossomed more—without having to heavily rely on the first film.
