Isang Gabi (2024)
Directed by: McArthur Alejandre
For one whole night,
two characters are talking about
anything under the sun.
For this movie to work, the actors must have connection with one another. They should speak and act naturally.
Unfortunately, both Coleen Garcia and Diego Loyzaga didn’t represent their characters well.
While they were good on some of their previous projects, they are misfits for their roles in this movie.
Their actions are not authentic. Their reactions are not believable. Their movements seem staged. There are scenes when they should be comfortable with each other, yet they look stiff. They don’t have chemistry.
Even if the script has potential, the delivery of lines are not believable and powerful. The direction is also weak, failing to bring out climactic moments whenever necessary. The tone is dull.
The backstories of each character are filled with important sensitive issues.
