A writer-director creates a movie for a famous film production company wherein her script undergoes major revisions to capture the romantic pulse of the masses.
This movie easily set the mood and established its plot, allowing you to anticipate how they will accomplish their goal and reach their ending.
They will take you inside the main character’s mind, showing you how she visualizes her script, while reality is happening around her.
The distinction between her script and her reality is clear. You won’t interchange the two since the scenes will speak for themselves.
Arci Muñoz and JM de Guzman make an exaggerated version of themselves to comply with the fantasy elements.
You will indulge for a moment. Til you realize that the exaggeration is too much. The fantasy is being stretched for too long — you will long for reality.
Masyadong humaba ang pananatili nila sa mundong sinusulat nila. Hanggang sa hindi na sila gumagawa ng script. Pinapakita na lamang nila ang mga eksena.
The supposed journey in creating a film has been cut short. They’ve detached themselves from behind-the-scenes and stayed inside the movie they’re creating.
The perspective from a writer-director is lacking. How to call the shots and give camera angles are missing. The different struggles in film-making were not explored.
This movie became a story of a broken-hearted woman with fragments of movie references.
The anticipation they’ve built from the beginning did not transcend towards the end. The message may not be as impactful, but it was still present and relevant to their theme.
The last part displays the foolishness and happiness romance can bring into our lives, be it for real or for show.
