On The Job: The Missing 8 (2021)
Directed by: Erik Matti
How long will our country suffer
from unjust system and corrupt leaders?
3.5 hours of a movie will never be enough to save the nation. But it is more than enough to capture our state and condition.
You can feel the darkness in the movie, making you seek for the light. Classic songs were played in between, serving as a breather to process this nonstop chaos. The split-screen in select scenes was a perfect way to emphasize different versions of truth. But even without the split-screen, they were able to show the contrast between characters especially at the end.
No matter how bleak the situation is,
hope is still present throughout the movie.
Even if all the goodness in this world seems to be missing, our job as a citizen in saving this country should not falter.
Walang susuko.
