Once On This Island (Musical 2024)
Directed by: Robbie Guevara
Very lively ang choreography. Mapapa-indak ka from your seat.
Halos buong palabas, nasa entablado yung ensemble.
Angela Ken is enchanting in so many ways. Sam Concepcion fits the role, and her chemistry with Angela is undeniable. Whether it’s powerful belting or soft tones, Thea Astley can deliver. Krystal Kane’s voice is crystal clear, deserving to be heard more than once. The presence of Lorenz Martinez is impactful. Lani Ligot is felt whenever she’s on stage.
𝘔𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦 is a perfect song for Radha’s tasty vocals. After her performance, it’s impossible not say Radha Will Provide. 𝘛𝘪 𝘔𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘦 is heartwarming. 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 is sung many times, yet it has a different interpretation everytime. 𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘺 brings you to another dimension. Some songs had onomatopoeia and it’s refreshing to hear.
The show is 1 hour and 30 minutes long, but your full attention won’t fade from start to end. Beyond the entertainment, there’s also a lot to unpack with the story. All the elements stand out and they are cohesively put together.

Once on this Island has the best songs! The songs are so catchy talaga. Whoever does this, super ok talaga coz nga maganda yung songs. As a theater geek though, the biggest challenge is how to make this play your own. I was expecting more because the interpretation of 9 Works didn’t veer away from the original. But I guess that’s the challenge of the play. How do you recreate it? For me, it wasn’t the best that Ive seen. Some cast members forgot their lines and Ive seen better choreo. Set was nice! But for the price, sana they make it cheaper para students can afford! 😂 I recently watched Mula Sa Buwan and 2999 for orchestra was worth…
