Ready or Not 2: Here I Come (2026)
Directed by: Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett

Part 2 picks up exactly where Part 1 left off. While both films can stand on their own, watching them together makes the experience richer.
Rather than simply relying on the first film’s success, this sequel fleshes out the story and raises the stakes. It manages to fuel things up right from the start, then wrap up in a satisfying way by the end.
The events in between are uneven. The shifts from killing to talking disrupt the momentum of what is supposed to be a nonstop, thrilling ride.
Explaining the rules so openly takes away the sense of mystery that was so effectively established before.
Dramatic tension between the sisters feels forced. And whenever they talk to each other, it’s oddly convenient that no one is actively chasing them. Every time they are cornered, the way they manage to escape isn’t plausible. Survival methods are more believable in the first film.
Most characters are one-dimensional and lack variety. Their personalities end up being too similar. They may come from different countries, but the film misses the opportunity to explore how different cultures approach greed, power, and money.
The constant bursts of blood are fun. A few selected death scenes are cool. But generally, it lacks creativity—especially considering the large venue they’re all in. The varied spaces inside and outside the mansion could have been used to make each kill distinct, but that potential isn’t utilized.
The ending—and the scenes leading up to it—strengthen the film. The main characters’ key actions and decisions are commendable, delivering a bold message.
Renditions of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” suit the scenes in which they are played. The reuse of the wedding dress and comfortable shoes is a nice touch.
A bloody contrast is drawn between families that hold on to each other and those that break under pressure. Beneath this difference lies a shared truth: evil persists regardless of blood ties.
What makes this sequel actually impressive is that it avoids a cliffhanger and gives a conclusion. Yet, should there be a next installment, there’s still something left to explore.
Whether or not a third movie comes,
you are ready either way.
This sequel gets you prepared.
