SAKALING MAGING TAYO

Sakaling Maging Tayo (2019)

Directed by: JP Habac

2 schoolmates who barely know each other cross paths and play a game of dares.

The uncertainties of their game allow this movie to have a flow that you can easily follow and look forward to.

The dares are not too extreme to be unbelievable but not too boring to be unwatchable. They were just right and enough to form a character arc with problems and resolutions.

Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon failed to show the depth of their problems. Their eyes may be crying, but their hearts are not. Characterization is weak, losing the chance to impart some strong tender moments. The performance of the actors did not meet the emotional requirements of the story.

The editing and dubbing can be distracting, since they don’t sync with the actual movements. The message can be disturbing, since it depicts love as a conditional term.
