Unbreakable (2019)
Directed by: Mae Cruz-Alviar
Bea always delivers her lines in a refined manner, with significant pauses in between, to give more emphasis on important words and feelings that are often neglected.
As expected, Angelica gives a no-holds-barred acting. Making her vulnerable all the time.
May kanya-kanya silang paraan ng pag-arte. But never will you feel a competition or disconnection between the two. This is a tandem more beautiful than a loveteam.
Gloria Diaz is a worthy addition to the team. She’s so irritatingly good to be ignored. She made this movie more colorful and entertaining.
The beauty of the cast is downgraded by its storyline and execution. A lot of moments made me raise my eyebrow.
Hindi maintindihan yung harap-harapang pambabastos ni Richard kay Mama Gloria on her birthday. It’s not reflective of Richard’s character. And the days went on as if walang bastusan na nangyari.
Hindi maisip kung bakit yung “friendship song” ang kinanta nila Angelica at Gloria sa event, while Bea is there. At hindi man lang nila in-acknowledge yun during their confrontation scene.
Especially the events that lead to Bea’s downfall.
It’s an easy way out.
They didn’t handle their story with care. They relied too much on their main cast. And just let all the other elements fall into pieces.
