28 Years Later (2025)
Directed by: Danny Boyle

Unlike in 𝘋𝘢𝘺𝘴 and 𝘞𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘴 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 where the story is the main focus, 𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 lacks substance and relies too much on its visual atmosphere.
This movie fails to build relationships among characters—making you apathetic with the whole situation.
You want to be sad for the sick mother, but you don’t even know her in the first place. You want to be angry with the reckless father, yet passiveness remains. There’s no emotional investment with whatever’s happening.
Not one single character from this movie is memorable. From the lead cast to supporting roles, all of them seems disposable.
As a result, when someone is being chased by zombies, it doesn’t matter anymore. People’s lives may be at stake, but there’s no bearing whether they live or die.
At some point, you just want the zombies to eat them all so this movie can end sooner.
Beneath the zombies’ thick exterior lies a thin story that’s barely holding together. Behind the edgy cinematic shots are just empty characters.
Thrill and action are scarce. There are more penises hanging than bloods dripping.
Counting of time should have stopped at 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 and 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘴, because stretching it to 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 is not worth the wait and hype.
