Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025)
Directed by: James Cameron

The 3-hour runtime is not justifiable. The story is being stretched, even if it could’ve concluded sooner.
Every time you think it’s about to hit the climax, it slows down, killing the momentum. This anti-climatic flow weakens some scenes, making them far less exciting than they should be.
The duration may be long, but it’s not entirely a waste of time. There are redeeming moments, scattered in between, that keep you engaged.
If Part 2 felt like a National Geographic water-world tour, Part 3 makes an effort to spice things up, making it better. Whenever boredom creeps in, expect someone to get mad and cause a fight.
Even with the frequent bursts of action, the dramatic elements still manage to leave an impact. Amidst the recurring chaos, they find a way to drown out the noise and highlight valuable relationships.
The new characters don’t add much value, but the familiar ones deliver pleasant surprises. Rediscoveries in their identities add an interesting layer to the Avatar universe.
Although visually decent, the CGI resembles an upgraded PlayStation gameplay rather than a cinematic breakthrough.
While there are fire and ash in the film, the title feels forced and not naturally tied to the story. Expanding the franchise to include all the other elements would be a stretch.
After this chapter, you may doubt whether additional sequels are truly warranted.
