BALLERINA

Updated: Jun 4

Ballerina (2025)

Directed by: Len Wiseman

First half is boring. Patience is very much needed. Characters don’t have charm nor bearing. All the things they’re doing doesn’t give any impact. The ballerina music box scoring makes you wanna sleep. Direction is lifeless and senseless.

Latter half is a breath of fresh air. Action scenes suddenly come alive. The thrill of nonstop chasing is persistent.

One person fighting against everybody seems like a suicide mission. But at some point, you have to put your logic aside and just enjoy the show. The absurdity of the situation makes it more compelling. You’re suddenly rooting for the main character to accomplish the impossible.

It’s entertaining to see the variety of weapons used. Different items and elements come together in the most satisfying ways. The usage of fire, ice, water, metal gives the impression of superheroes fighting. You’re witnessing a fun arcade match—with lots of TKO.

Camera angles are able to highlight crucial movements, giving justice to the action scenes. The continuous shots increase the level of intensity.

Participation of John Wick in this film is underwhelming—although appreciated. The ending isn’t that exciting. There’s also no credit scene to anticipate.

𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢 isn’t on the same level as 𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯 𝘞𝘪𝘤𝘬. Nonetheless, you’ll watch it for the sake of action. 𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯 𝘞𝘪𝘤𝘬 ran so 𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢 could dance, stepping in to the rhythm of dynamic combats.
