Don’t Sleep (Thai Horror Movie)
Written & Directed by: Krittanut Watcharanuntagul

True to its title, 𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘚𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱 keeps you awake due to its consistent laughable mess. The movie’s hideousness grows with you. So bad, it’s good. Like a masochist, you keep asking for more.
There’s only one writer and director for the whole movie, but it feels like ten people are battling for creative control. An orgy of random fetishes and concepts is overflowing. Gratuitous nudity has never been this fun and cringeworthy.
The storytelling is inspired by Jenga where scenes are being inserted carelessly on top of one another, doomed for destruction. The camera shots are completely unhinged, toppled by drunken editing.
Characters come and go without a warning. You don’t know who is the lead anymore and which story to follow. All of them seems disposable.
Reading the subtitles has brought more life and character than the people themselves. With its consistent typos and grammatical errors, the subtitles are to watch out for.
The ghosts look like they’re just having a bad hair day and a make up disaster all at once. Jump scares are more annoying than scary.
The movie is told in 8 chapters that don’t align well with each other. Instead of giving a cohesive story, every chapter feels like an anthology. The credits scene operates on a different level—even people with master’s degree can’t comprehend its ambiguity.
While beauty is subjective, no one would dare to say this movie is beautiful. In a world of varying opinions, the judgment for this one seems unanimous. This movie has the power to unify people together.
A new horror cult classic has awakened.
Don’t sleep on this movie y’all.
