Drop (2025)
Directed by: Christopher Landon

This is what you call a thriller movie,
never letting the suspense drop.
Despite the too-much-info trailer, the movie is still packed with never-ending surprises. From the start, it feeds you with bits of information. Not overloaded nor underwhelming. Just enough to keep you interested.
Even though they’re mostly staying in one location, the emotional shifts are compelling and moving. It’s hard not to be invested.
From being interested, you’re now invested.
Unlike other movies where characters are portrayed as dumb and clumsy just to heighten tension, the lead here is smart, composed, and observant.
Meghann Fahy has the ability to convey multiple feelings all at once, weaving together a complex experience. Because of this riveting portrayal, you’ll hold onto her character and her every move. Jeffery Self’s funny antics provide an effective contrast to the tense situation.
The theme could have been woven more deeply into the narrative for greater impact and substance. Nonetheless, the movie remains gripping and engaging. Sharply edited, the texts and videos appearing on screen are in sync. The pacing is smooth.
Not dropping, the intensity level keeps on increasing. By the end, you’re at the height of your emotions. Your hands are in the air, clapping and rooting for this movie.
