Evil Dead Burn (2026)

Directed by: Sébastien Vaniček

This horror film is beautiful mainly because of its story, which is deeply tied to its gore-filled theme.

Violence, when used the right way, can be a powerful weapon for survival. Bloodbaths, when driven by the right motive, can end up being inspirational.

The main character’s pain isn’t immediately felt. It takes repeated reminders before the truth finally sinks in. Acknowledging something so difficult requires courage. The film sustains that fire until the very end, making its final blow all the more satisfying and meaningful.

Surprisingly, the lines are striking and thought-provoking. They pose questions that initially invite victim-blaming and gaslighting, only for the answers to naturally come to light.

Nothing is more evil and deadly than a family that succumbs to wrongdoing. It’s a horrifying cycle that must not only be broken but also burned to ashes, leaving no chance for it to rise again.

Initially, the film banks on its gruesome factor, and it works. The first death scene alone is already yucky, only to be followed by another that’s even worse and just as icky. You can’t help but look away from the screen.

Just when you’re about to get bored, something crazy happens. Then it gets even crazier. Evil creatures perform extreme circus acts and engage in funny kink. It’s both cool and nasty when the camera zooms in, forcing you to watch body parts being ripped apart or fused together.

This film, being entertaining and disturbing, is already enough to stay true to its core. Yet it goes further by incorporating a message that makes sense of every act of violence.

Fueled by a burning story and unapologetic gore, 𝘌𝘷𝘪𝘭 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘉𝘶𝘳𝘯 is lit.
