Freakier Friday (2025)
Directed by: Nisha Ganatra

A must-see movie
for all those who love the first one.
This freakquel is definitely freakier.
Yet the charm is still there.
They did justice to the characters—both the old and the new. Seeing different generations come together feels nostalgic and entertaining. Certain phrases will make you reflect on your own age.
Time flies. The first movie was released 22 years ago. Kids who watched it back then might have kids of their own now. If not, they’re probably navigating complex relationships. Either way, the movie finds its way to be relatable.
There’s always something to talk and laugh about—whether it’s music taste, niche sports or health concerns.
Having so many topics and scenes, the movie can drag on. “Friday” is taking longer than usual. A lot of activities can be removed from the messy itinerary, but it doesn’t matter that much because fun times always prevail.
Jamie Lee Curtis never runs dry on comedy. Lindsey Lohan is forever young and glowing. Manny Jacinto’s dancing and dramatic skills are compelling. Julia Buttlers’ portrayal of an adult is believable. Vanessa Bayer is funny no matter what she’s doing.
Altogether, the cast is not hard to love. Even when the credits roll, their bond remains. Their faces bring smiles and memories.
Beyond the comedy, the movie will be remembered for its lovely portrayal of a family. The direction may have detours, but it ends exactly at the heart of the story. Amidst the freakiness, there’s tenderness.
Just like our favorite day of the week, both 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘺 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘺 and 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘺 will forever be cherished for the comfort and message they bring.
