Gohan (2026)

Directed by: Nattawut Poonpiriya, Atta Hemwadee, Chayanop Boonprakob

A stray dog named Gohan taking on a lead role already has a charm of its own. But what makes it more amazing is seeing 3 generations of dogs portraying the same character.

It’s surreal to witness their organic acting performances, shifting naturally from snobby to clingy.

While the dogs are undeniably cute, the human characters add more life to the movie.

Their character arcs give deeper meaning to the story. Because of their bond with Gohan, people have grown into more mature and selfless individuals over time. Their journey in life leaves you feeling more hopeful about the world we live in.

Among the 3 owners, Namcha’s actions hit the hardest. Her big heart, paired with a genuine portrayal, brings you closer into her character. She is admirable.

Some shot choices are deliberate, while the timing and editing remain sharp. Together, these elements act as comedic punchlines, adding more entertainment to the scenes. On the other hand, the musical score pushes you to cry even more in an already emotional moment.

Total runtime is 2 hours and 20 minutes, and you can definitely feel its length. The story fits as a series, because it is divided into distinct chapters, each with its own cast and genre. Still, the drama is evident throughout.

Emotions keep building, and you have no choice but to take it all in. Perhaps, that’s the beauty of experiencing it in cinema.

It’s a tearjerker fur-ever experience.

There’s no time to pause—even when the tears are already flowing from your eyes. There’s no chance for a bathroom break—even when your heart is already breaking. By the end, everyone looks red due to an ugly cry.
