The ultimate gift this movie can give is the Core Four reunion. Watching them hug and fight is the sweetest.

Nobody does facial reactions and line delivery quite like Anna Faris. She can scream, “What are you waiting for?!” as many times she wants, and it never goes out of style.

Whatever Regina Hall says effortlessly becomes an effective punchline. Her signature high-pitched voice is comedic gold. The Wayans Brothers are always committed to the ridiculousness of every situation they’re in.

Kim Wayans should retain her role as the bitchy, apathetic nurse. With his iconic and hysterical portrayal of Shorthand, Chris Elliott deserves more screen time alongside cast in future sequels.

That random white teen extra needs to be credited. The next generation of cast members shows potential, but nothing beats the original as their appeal remains timeless.

There’s really not much to criticize about the movie because it exists primarily to entertain. At the end of the day, the only real question is whether it’s funny or not.

The jokes are just mid. Some of them land, but they aren’t consistently laugh-out-loud funny. They don’t make a lasting impact.

Writing a single funny joke is one thing. Sustaining the comedy all throughout is another. This movie can deliver the former, but never quite masters the latter.

Instead of carefully timing its humor, the movie keeps throwing nonstop jokes—even if it’s already tiring to watch. With no room to breathe, the movie fails to create the buildup needed for the comedy to land harder.

Most parodies are underwhelming. The movie never quite crosses every line it promises to. Rather than being sharp and provocative, the insults come across as basic and low-hanging.

Nonetheless, movies that embrace pure mockery and absurdity should still be celebrated.

This style of comedy is rarely seen today, and the demand for it should persist because it offers a refreshing break from the usual mainstream offerings.

Beyond the comedy, it also serves as an unconventional tribute and homage to numerous films—be it horror or not. Watching it feels like taking a quiz where recognizing every reference is the key to fully appreciating the experience.

The stunt girl in the 𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢 is a scene stealer. It’s hilarious to know why the kids are running in 𝘞𝘦𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴. Either you 𝘎𝘦𝘵 𝘖𝘶𝘵 or you get high.

The incorporation of 𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘴 into Shorthand is not maximized. The original song, inspired by 𝘒𝘗𝘰𝘱 𝘋𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘯 𝘏𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴, is cute at first, but its lazy and repetitive lyrics make it easily forgettable. It would be nice to see 𝘔𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘦𝘭 and 𝘔𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘯 join the cast for a dance showdown.

This movie may not be an absolute 𝘛𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘳, but hating it puts you among the 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴. Even though this is all just random stuff with none of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘣𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦, it always finds ways to make you 𝘚𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘦 and 𝘚𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 on the inside.

Their place in pop culture is cemented, making the thought of losing the franchise really scary. Life is more fun with them around, so just keep making them.
