Stripped of the fun that the previous installments usually offered, this new film becomes more of a drama. The fight scenes never quite deliver the wow factor.

The pacing is slow. It gets stuck in the past for too long before moving the story forward. Rather than feeling like a film, it plays out like an overly long episode of a personality improvement test.

Much of the time is devoted to conversations and reflections. While you appreciate the journey and its purpose, it often drags the film down to the point where it becomes boring. The runtime feels much longer than it actually is.

Throughout the 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳-𝘔𝘢𝘯 films starring Tom Holland, he has never carried the story alone. He always shared the headline with other major characters — from 𝘐𝘳𝘰𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘯 and 𝘔𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰 to 𝘋𝘳. 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦.

This might be the first time 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳-𝘔𝘢𝘯 truly carries the franchise on his shoulders. That’s a heavy burden, but Peter Parker somehow manages to pull through.

His interactions with longtime friends are among the film’s sweetest moments. His internal dilemmas and struggles allow him to grow and realize his potential.

So even though the drama comes with its share of downtime, it also elevates the film through its emotional depth.

This may not be the 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳-𝘔𝘢𝘯 we’re accustomed to, but it’s definitely a necessary phase for 𝘗𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘳.

As he comes to embrace his powers and responsibilities, it marks not only a 𝘉𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘋𝘢𝘺 but also the beginning of a new era, raising anticipation for his role in 𝘋𝘰𝘰𝘮𝘴𝘥𝘢𝘺.
