The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025)
Directed by: Michael Chaves

This film isn’t technically perfect—with questionable choices from demonic fights to the credits portion. Nonetheless, it’s the best kind of ending the Warren family could ever have.
It’s hard to let Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson go, being the beloved horror couple icons that they are. But if this is the last film we’ll get, then it’s definitely a perfect culmination to 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘫𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 universe.
You’ll appreciate the jumpscares for what they’re worth. Even though most of them are expected, you’ll still get caught by surprise. There’s a lot of foreshadowing with various items that come into play later on.
Beyond the satisfying jumpscares, the film invests in what really matters. The characters are so well-developed. You don’t want them harmed because you care for them, making the scares all the more intense.
Whenever the scene feels off, it's redeemed by powerful emotional moments that outweigh the flaws. Things may get chaotic and ugly on the outside, but its core remains strong.
From the very beginning, the film knows what story it wants to tell. The first sequence sets a grounded tone for what’s coming. There’s no other way to end it but this one. Fan service or not, the whole franchise is given justice.
The details aren’t important anymore. Being with The Warrens makes it all worthwhile.
As we remind ourselves that these aren't just characters but people who actually lived through events, it all makes sense why the story has to unfold and end that way.
When asked how will 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘫𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 be remembered? It’s probably not the demons, but the real people that leave a lasting impression.
A family who, despite being scared, never lets horror consume them.
That’s the best legacy
any horror film can ever give.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful and meaningful universe with us.
