The Monkey (2025)
Written & Directed by: Osgood Perkins

How would you live your life
if death is just around the corner?
Definitely not by watching this film.
It’s such a waste of time.
The flat and boring direction sucks the suspense out of the story, making it impossible to get invested with any of the characters. Everything is fleeting. There’s nothing to look forward to.
How ironic it is to witness random deaths yet they’re also very predictable. All death scenes lack creativity, impact and emotional weight.
While the visual effects look realistic and some edits look appealing, they are just petty decorations to hide the overall dullness of the movie. Their gimmicks are underwhelming, failing to provide any sense of satisfaction.
Dialogues come across as contrived. The ending feels like a cheap attempt to rush towards a convenient resolution.
Despite special appearances of some celebrities, the movie is still a snoozefest. Whenever the Monkey plays the drum, it means it’s time to wake up!
