THE TIME THAT REMAINS

The Time That Remains (2025)

Directed by: Adolf Alix Jr.

You’d feel the scoring and the aesthetics, but not the characters. They are heavily guided by the narration that doesn’t compensate for the lack of scenes.

No matter how absurd or intense the story may sound, the shock and excitement from the characrers are missing. There’s no thrill in following the investigation of policemen. Crimes are portrayed with romanticized tone, lacking accountability and consequences.

The struggles of family members, even though heavy, don’t have a lingering effect. Certain plot points are forced to fit the ending.

This movie could’ve been powerful if they’d invested more time in developing the love story. They’ve got almost two hours to make it happen, yet as the end draws near, what they’ve shown isn’t enough with the time that remains.
