TRIANGGULO

Trianggulo (VMX 2025)

Directed by: Christopher Novabos

Pressured by her mother, a lesbian hires a man to father her child. However, the one who gets pregnant is the lesbian’s partner.

Despite the writer’s effort to make the story super duper complicated, the supposedly pivotal threesome moment still feels underwhelming and uneventful.

Lacking the needed tension among the characters, the sex scenes are lame and boring to witness. Their movements are safe and calculated.

Marco Mora’s poker face and monotonous scriptreading didn’t help at all in navigating the situation. Vern Kaye needs to use her face more in relaying emotions. Skye Gonzaga’s voice acting skills make her a good fit for radio programs. These three leads might benefit from practicing more nuanced and natural reactions.

There’s a little to no creativity with the camera shots. Sometimes, they’ll focus and blur on unnecessary things. Private body parts are being shown carelessly.

Unplanned pregnancy, surrogacy, parenthood, and infidelity are part of the narrative, yet they barely make an effort to discuss about these topics.

A trio set-up is not uncommon in Philippine movies. Having sex with another man (for the sake of having a child) is a story you might already be familiar with.

When Angel Locsin, Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo, and Angelica Panganiban give us 𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘺, here comes the Vivamax version that doesn’t even try.
