Untold (2025)

Directed by: Derick Cabrido

Despite its lead playing a reporter,

the film falls short in storytelling.

Whatever beat is assigned to Jodi Sta. Maria, she can deliver it with finesse. Lianne Valentin’s mood shifts are smooth. Her impressive acting skills justify a promotion to lead roles. Mylene Dizon deserves to have more screen time next time. Kaori Oinuma’s acting is off.

The film's portrayal of power dynamics is problematic, and they don’t seem to care in addressing these issues. There’s no ounce of character development till the end. Characters are merely used as props to increase the jumpscare count.

In pursuit of nonstop horror, the movie loses sight of its direction. Much like a journalist's irresponsible exposé, some things are better left untold—this movie included.
